kyla pho
about
Kyla Pho is a surrealist artist from Nashua, New Hampshire, working in soft pastel, ink, and mixed media. Her drawings explore childhood memory and the loss of innocence.
Her practice includes five years and more than 500 hours of observational drawing, composition, and color study. In 2026 she earned a Gold Key, three Silver Keys, and an Honorable Mention from the Scholastic Art Awards. That summer she completed the RISD Pre-College program in illustration, where her work was selected for gallery exhibition in both of her foundation courses.
She is also a classically trained pianist and flutist. At school she plays piano for the jazz band and first flute in the concert band, with jazz tours to Montreal and London. As pit pianist for Grease, Spamalot, and Cinderella, she played extensive solos across three-night runs.
She has twice performed as a concerto soloist at the Tsai Performance Center, Boston University, playing movements of Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 21 (K. 467) and No. 9 (K. 271) with orchestra.
